INTERSECTIONS EXHIBITION OPEN CALL

Updated: May 29

Each year POC in Architecture has the goal to collaborate with other organisations who have a community they are supporting. This year POC in A is collaborating with Architecture LGBT+ to create space for specifically one of the most marginalised communities - Black, South Asian and/or Mixed Raced LGBTQ creatives. Artists in all forms of design, architecture and fine art. Last year POC in A held Art in Architecture which brought artists and architects together from African and Caribbean heritage, to create a room full of versatile artists who could network and share their talents.

This year is a collaborative exhibition called Intersections, exploring identity, place and story telling through architecture, art and/or design. We are looking for 10-15 architecture or artists to showcase a piece of work which relates to the theme - identity, place and story telling. Artists should both identify within the LGBTQ+ community and be of South Asian, African and/or Caribbean heritage.

The exhibition will be held and launched at Corner (New Cross), a beautifully designed bar/gallery space in south London. The theme of the exhibtion can be expressed through sculpture, model making, mapping, drawings, paintings, collage or even architectural drawing or fashion designs. As an artist or architectural designer applying, you can choose how you would like to express the theme and what it means to you. As part of the exhitbion each selected artist will have the opportunity to have professional photography taken of them/ their craft.

We would like individuals to apply by sending in an example of previous work or the work they might want to display in the exhibtion. Please send to: applications@pocinarchitecture.com with the email title INTERSECTIONS APPLICANT. Please send in PDF format with:
